Perrotin is pleased to participate in the 2023 iteration of Intersect Aspen with a dual solo presentation of work by Nikki Maloof and Danielle Orchard, following both artists’ debut exhibitions at Perrotin New York this past spring.

Nikki Maloof’s paintings depict the world hidden within the mind. Imagined and intricately detailed interiors, animals, and landscapes become proxies for the human experience. The artist's coded pictures make clear reference to the conventions of Western religious vanitas painting, with its representations of physical objects—flowers, food, skulls—to symbolize the transience of earthly pleasures, while toeing the line between vitality and mortality.

Danielle Orchard's practice explores and reframes female corporeal representation within the art historical canon, employing the vernacular of modern art to portray nude women immersed in the experiences of contemporary womanhood. The figures Orchard brings to life are self-determined and self-assured, unabashed in their own tragedies and pleasures.

Perrotin's booth will also feature artwork by Oli Epp, Gabriel de la Mora, and Kathia St. Hilaire.
