In the series "The poller and exactor of fees," Rico uses a square root sign, composed of reflective gold brass, as a frame to position the elements inside it. Rico abstracts the normal, logical flow of the square root equation, reimagining this "divine" factor and allowing himself a freedom of positioning of the objects in this piece. Rico says, "My intention is to break down the logic of this mathematical operation and assume it as a blank canvas, in which the numbers of elements are only limited by their size, color, and shape." - Gabriel Rico
