From Chauvet in France to Serra da Capivara in Brazil, early representations of the hand ushered in the first era of human creativity. Our hands determine the mark we leave on the world and allow us to tell our own story.

The human hand is one of the oldest images recorded by mankind. Found in prehistoric paintings, hand prints signaled to future generations that the artist existed.

The new works explore the hand as a form of storytelling since appearing in prehistoric paintings in the caves around the world.
