Perrotin is pleased to announce its participation in the second edition of Tokyo Gendai with a group show booth featuring a diverse array of artists from July 5-7, 2024 (Booth C09).

ペロタンは、2024年7月5日（金）～7日（日）の第2回Tokyo Gendai（東京現代）に多彩なアーティストからなるグループ展の形で出展いたします（ブースC09）。

For this edition, we are thrilled to introduce the works of Senegalese artist Seyni Awa Camara for the first time. Working in her house in Bignona, she diligently crafts thousands of characters—men, women, and animals—to bring her unique cosmogony to life. The anthropologist Michèle Odéyé-Finzi began collecting her works in the 1980s, propelling Seyni Awa Camara into the international art scene with numerous solo exhibitions showcasing her totemic creations that evoke bestiaries and maternity scenes.

今回は、セネガルのアーティスト、セーニ・アワー・カマラの作品を初めてご紹介します。ビニョナの自宅で精力的に働くセーニ・アワー・カマラは、男性や女性、さまざまな動物など何千ものキャラクターの造形を続け、独自の宇宙観に命を吹き込んでいます。人類学者のミシェル・オデイェ=フィンジ氏が1980年代にカマラ氏の作品を収集し始めたことで、セーニ・アワー・カマラ氏は国際的なアートシーンで脚光を浴びるようになり、数多くの個展で動物寓話や出産シーンを想起させるトーテミズム的な作品を披露しています。

Our main wall will feature works by Swedish artist Jens Fänge, whose multidimensional paintings blend surrealism and realism, creating immersive, dream-like spaces that captivate the viewer. This focused presentation is a prelude to his solo exhibition at Perrotin Tokyo in November.

メインの展示壁にはスウェーデンのアーティスト、イェンス・フェンゲ氏の作品を展示します。彼の多次元的な絵画は、シュルレアリスムとレアリスムを融合させ、没入感のある夢のような空間を作り出して見る者の心を捉えます。11月にペロタン東京で開催する個展の序章となる、集中的な展示です。

We are also delighted to present works by other artists from our roster, including Jean-Marie Appriou, Genesis Belanger, Mathilde Denize, Laurent Grasso, Zach Harris, Thilo Heinzmann, John Henderson, and Klara Kristalova. The works delve into the mysteries of nature and the unseen, exploring the intricacies of existence and the human experience.
