ABU DHABI ART
NOVEMBER 20-24
BOOTH: AS2
Perrotin is pleased to return to Abu Dhabi Art with a selection of works by artists from the gallery roster, including Jean-Marie Appriou, Iván Argote, Sophie Calle, Lynn Chadwick, Julian Charrière, Mathilde Denize, Laurent Grasso, Thilo Heinzmann, John Henderson, Gregor Hildebrandt, JR, Izumi Kato, Bharti Kher, Jean-Michel Othoniel, and Xiyao Wang.
In this edition, we will showcase a new work by Jean-Marie Appriou titled The Sun Compagnon. This wall sculpture combines handblown glass with patinated bronze, drawing inspiration from the Egyptian god Khepri, who is represented as a large amulet. The sculpture's bronze legs encircle a glass body, reminiscent of Egyptian jewelry and the movement of celestial bodies. It is part of a series focusing on insects and animals, a theme Jean-Marie Appriou explored throughout his career.
Our booth will also present a work by Bharti Kher, featuring a tondo from a new series of paintings that reflect her enduring exploration of animism, surrealism, and the nature of human experience. This series will be featured in an exhibition at the Tate St Ives, UK, in 2025.
